Teacher Salute Winner - February 2020

Congrats to our February Teacher Salute Winner ...Mrs. Karla Mertz - 4th Grade Teacher at Northwestern Elementary School in New Tripoli! Mrs. Mertz was nominated by fellow colleague Morgan Bentley... see what Morgan had to say below:

“Mrs. Mertz is an amazing educator who is an awesome mentor and colleague. She puts everyone first, including faculty and students, in order to create the most positive and productive learning environment possible. She also has awesome classroom management, where the kids are well behaved and are able to still learn and have fun. She has been teaching within the district for over 20 years and everyone who has ever interacted with her has only had positive words. She is an extremely kind human being and teacher - she values honesty, respect, accountability, and other traits she instills with importance in her students. Every student who has her becomes a better person, and learner, by the end of the school year. I HIGHLY recommend her for this award due to her constant dedication, positivity (both in and out of the classroom), and dedication to her students and the Northwestern community as a whole.”

Mrs. Mertz will receive a classroom pizza party from Little Caesar's Pizza hosted by Mike and Steph during the month of February, and prizes from Meera Salon and Day Spa and the Da Vinci Science Center!

Congrats Mrs. Mertz! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our community!
