Congratulations to Mrs. Veronica McCauley for being B104's April 09' Teacher Salute Winner!
Mrs. McCauley is a Kindergarten Teacher at Farmersville Elementary School in Bethlehem. She was nominated by Amy Shupp; parent of a child taught by Mrs. McCauley.
This is what Amy had to say about Mrs. McCauley:
"My son was seriously injured in a freak accident and was not able to attend school for two months while he healed. The school allowed for funding for him to receive 1 hour of lessons daily, but it does not have to be the same person each time. His teacher Mrs. McCauley stepped up and agreed to be his sole homebound teacher every day. She came to our home almost every day for 2 months while he healed.
She followed all his doctor appointments and assured us that he was progressing at the same rate as his fellow students so that when he returned that he would be just fine. This helped to ease our concerns and fears.
The doctors only released him back to school after they were assured that his teacher was aware of his care and limitations. They counted on our personal opinion that we fully trusted her. She made the class aware and even allowed him to come back for the Christmas party to get out of the house and visit with his friends. She had the class make him cards to cheer him up. She also made the class aware of his return and they were very supportive and always watched out for him. She showed a true concern for our child and our family and gave up hours with her own family to help our son continue his education. She gave us piece of mind when we needed it most.
She truly deserves to win this award as she was very selfless with her time and just truly cared for his welfare like he was her own. Our family is so thankful that at such a stressful time that she went above and beyond her required duty."
Congratulations to Mrs. McCauley for being such an outstanding teacher!

Congratulations to Mr. Coyle- 8th Grade American History "Spirit of Bethlehem" Teacher at East Hills Middle School- Bethlehem for being the November 2008 Teacher Salute Winner!
Mr. Coyle was nominated by his student Gabrielle Manganiello.
This is what Gabrielle had to say about Mr. Coyle:
"My teacher Mr. Coyle deserves to win beacuse he is the best teacher I ever had. He teaches a class called The Spirit Of Bethlehem. Spirit Of Bethlehem helps the poor, needy and the homeless in Bethlehem. We are going to raise money for everything that we are going to do this year!
Two examples of that, is that we are going to try to get the most blankets we can get for the homeless in The City Of Bethlehem in the Winter. The other example is that we are going to go into a Hospital in Bethlehem and give the Boys/Girls that are sick a little stuffed bear from The Spirit Of Bethlehem.
I think Mr. Coyle should win because he never wants to do the things to get credit. He wants to help the poor, needy and the homeless in Bethlehem because he likes seeing the look on the people’s faces when we help them.
Our motto is, "If you want to be happy for an hour, GO WATCH T.V. If you want to be happy for a day, GO TO AN AMUSEMENT PARK. If you want to be happy for a lifetime GO AND HELP OTHERS" Mr. Coyle not only teaches (S.O.B) he also teaches History. Mr. Coyle is a blessing to all of those around him."
Congratulations Mr. Coyle, for being the B104 Teacher Salute winner for November 2008!
