Last night was the 40^th Anniversary of the American Music Awards and it was a big night for a lot of B104 artists.  JUSTIN BIEBER won Artist of the year, Pop/rock male artist and Pop/rock album, New artist of the year was CARLY RAE JEPSEN, Pop/rock female artist went to KATY PERRY, MAROON 5 won Pop/rock band, duo or group, Country female artist winner was TAYLOR SWIFT.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD won the Country album category, NICKI MINAJ won both Rap/hip-hop artist and Rap/hip-hop album.  Soul/R&B female artist went to BEYONCE. Best Soul/R&B male artist is USHER. Soul/R&B album winner was RIHANNA.  Alternative rock artist went to LINKIN PARK. ADELE was Adult contemporary artist winner.

RYAN SEACREST – who in recent years hosted New Year's Rockin' Eve with DICK CLARK said the American Music Awards was a fitting platform on which to honor Clark.

"This show, on its 40th anniversary, still reflects Dick's original vision: bringing the top artists on the planet together on an equal stage," Seacrest said. "Dick loved the power of music and its ability to create pure joy. That's why we're going to use music tonight to celebrate the joy of his life."

JUSTIN BIEBER and SELENA GOMEZ got in an epic argument during dinner Friday - they didn't even make it to the appetizer.

The "couple" had an argument while inside the restaurant and Selena left less than 10 minutes into the meal. Justin quickly followed.

Selena drove home with Justin trailing a few minutes behind. When Justin got to her place ... she denied him entrance at the gate and Bieber drove off.

Speaking of Miss Gomez - Selena met up with TAYLOR SWIFT for dinner and girl chat on Saturday night.

The adorable stars dined at Osteria La Buca in LA, where the pair appeared to have a lovely evening.  A witness says, “They looked like great friends and were also in deep conversation throughout the meal. Taylor was very protective of Selena and escorted her to and from the car.”

Twilight: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2 topped the worldwide weekend box office with $340.9 million opening. It's the franchise's best global opening, thanks to massive international business.

In North America, Breaking Dawn 2 wasn't able to match the $142.8 million opening of New Moon on the same weekend in 2009, but it did open ahead of the $138.1 million grossed by Breaking Dawn -- Part 1 on the same weekend last year.

Overseas, Breaking Dawn 2 opened well ahead of previous Twilight films in nearly every territory.

In other box-office news, Skyfall finished the weekend with a worldwide total of $669.2 million to become the top-grossing James Bond pic of all time.

Steven Spielberg's awards contender Lincoln also made headlines as it expanded nationwide. The historical drama took in a strong $21 million from 1,775 theaters.
