October 2006 Teacher Salute

Congratulations to Mrs. Karen Cope, 3rd Grade Teacher at Schnecksville Elementary School!
Mrs. Cope was nominated by Michelle Brader and Michelle had this to say about Mrs. Cope:  “Karen Cope deserves to win because she possesses all of the qualities that you would want to have in your child's teacher. She's a strict teacher yet fun at the same time; she's caring; she's an excellent role model; she instills confidence in the children. Hands down both of my children would say that she was be far their absolute favorite teacher to this date. We give our children to their teacher for 6 hours a day 5 days a week, and hope that the person we are giving them to will teach more than just the fundamentals that are required. I can say withouta doubt that Mrs Cope does this and more every day!”

"I was so thrilled when I found out that my daughter had Mrs. Sysko as her teacher this year. She is full of energy and I heard that she was an incredible teacher. I just learned recently how very true that was. My daughter Rya was ill and out of school for 2 weeks. Mrs. Sysko went out of her way to bring my daughters work to our house and then was so kind her first day back. My daughter was nervous to come back to school again and Mrs. Sysko went out of her way to make my daughter feel comfortable she even sat with her at lunch!!! Mrs. Sysko deserves to be pampered for all of the hard work and special attention she gives her student at Shafer Elementary School. She teaches the kids responsibility, to think for themselves and gives them the opportunity to make their own decisions all while making learning creative and fun! We feel very blessed to have Mrs. Sysko as my daughters 2nd grade teacher!"

B104 JANUARY 08 TEACHER SALUTE WINNER IS:

First Grade Teacher, Ms. Paukovitch from Palmer Elementary School in Easton!

Ms. Paukovitch was nominated by parent Tina Sterner, her daughter Samantha, as well as fellow teachers and parents from Palmer Elementary.

This is what Tina had to say about Ms. Paukovitch...

"My daughter, Samantha, and I (and if I may many of her fellow teachers and parents) would like to nominate her first grade teacher, Ms. Paukovitch. You see, every other week or so, my daughter comes home and tells me that her teacher will not be in for a couple of days because she has to go and take her "big medicine" and then she needs to rest for a couple of days afterwards. Samantha misses her when she is not there.

Meanwhile, my daughter has learned so much in the past four months. Her teacher has fostered such an incredible desire to learn in her students, so that even though she is not there, they still excel. Ms. Paukovitch, unbelievably, still attends PTA meetings, and got every parent in her class to join the PTA this year. The parents and staff see her spirit, positive attitude, and daily smile.

She can be credited with motivating at least two and probably more women to go and have their first mammogram. So you see, Ms. Paukovitch is teaching my daughter to care for others, she is teaching her a sense of responsibility and commitment to her school/community, and she is teaching us all to enjoy and embrace everything life has to throw at us with a smile and never ending positive attitude.

Last year, Samantha, wanted to be a loving mom when she grew up. This year when asked, she says she wants to be a teacher, like Ms. Paukovitch."

CONGRATULATIONS TO MS. PAUKOVITCH FOR BEING THE JANUARY 08 B104 TEACHER SALUTE Winner!
